Ashley Buba – Biography
Ashley Buba received her Masters of Science in Communication Disorders at Texas State University in 2001. She completed her fellowship year at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, where she focused on evaluation and treatment of children born with cleft lip and palate. Following her fellowship year, Ashley continued her work at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, where she expanded her focus to include speech therapy in children with neurodevelopmental disorders and rehabilitative speech and language in children with acquired brain injury. While at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Ashley was a key member of a multi-disciplinary craniofacial team, a multi-disciplinary rehabilitative team, and a multi-disciplinary feeding and swallowing team. She is a strong believer in team care. In 2007, she was very excited to get the opportunity to move back to her home state, where she began work with the newly formed Cleft Lip and Palate Team at Austin Children’s Hospital and then Dell Children’s Hospital. Ashley has had extensive training in cleft evaluation and treatment, childhood apraxia of speech, 22q11 deletion, and early intervention in children with neurodevelopmental disorders.
Ashley Buba lives in Austin with her husband, her two daughters, and her border collie. She loves anything outside and is an avid runner.
